Time Wise
Time Wise helps you understand how you spend time in desktop applications. It measures the application in focus and shows totals and per-application usage.
Usage history stays on this computer. Time Wise does not collect window titles, browsing URLs, or document names.

Get started
Complete first-run setup
- Start Time Wise.
- Choose whether it should start automatically when you sign in. Automatic launch helps avoid gaps in daily usage history.
- Select Continue.
You can change this preference later.
View your usage
While Time Wise is running, it records how long each application remains in focus. Time while the screen is locked or the computer is asleep is excluded.
Closing the Time Wise window does not stop measurement while the application remains in the system tray. Use the tray menu to show the dashboard, open settings, or quit the application.
Time spent in Time Wise itself is not recorded.
Settings and data
Open Settings from the Time Wise system tray menu.
Change automatic launch
Use Launch on startup to choose whether Time Wise starts automatically when you sign in to the computer.
Delete usage history
- Select Delete… next to Delete all usage history.
- Read the confirmation, then select Delete permanently.
This permanently removes every recorded session and cached application icon from this computer. The action cannot be undone. Preferences such as automatic launch are preserved.
Privacy
Time Wise handles only the information needed to measure application usage.
Information recorded
- The focused application’s identity and display name
- The time for which the application was focused
- An application icon used for display
Information not recorded
- Window titles
- Document names or email subjects
- Browsing URLs, websites, or browser tabs
- Time when an application is merely running in the background
- Time while the screen is locked or the computer is asleep
Usage history is stored in an on-device area for the operating-system user. The current version does not send it to a server. You can delete the history from Settings.
